I love Nui Cobalt’s book scents! This one is perfect for Autumn and winter.

Wow - books and bookshelves but also leaves and a hit of red musk like that of Canoodling in a Leaf Pile. Red musk is not generally my thing, often too dirty or animalic, but it's tempered so beautifully here by the other notes. The red musk is not too much, nor is the leather, and this perfume needs them both. Altogether this scent is stunningly autumnal and also gorgeously scholarly.

This starts off much lighter than I was expecting, but that seems fitting when you consider how the smell of old books is actually pretty faint. It’s got that ever so slightly dusty smell that I just love about these kind of scents. There’s a mysterious fruity quality coming through, and although it initially comes off as a soft and sweet scent, this completely changes once it’s fully dried down. The initial sweetness is no where to be found as it morphs into a dark and loud leather-forward scent. The woodiness of the mahogany and the ancient stone give it a chilling earthy quality while the glowing amber and musk help warm it up just a touch.
