Upon opening my dark viscous sample, this is sweet corn, inviting and wafting on a breezy day. I only got interested in corn and hay scents last year, but I find them a novel approach of Fall than the pumpkin spice route. The hay lends a nostalgic throw of going to livestock feed stores. I think the caramel multiplies the sweetness from the shucked corn, without coming off as gourmand. Sniffing deeply, the oats make me think of hot oatmeal, satisfying and inviting. I feel the woodsmoke is slight in the scent, just lending a light outdoor feel. I classify this as atmospheric, it’s rich and warm while also bringing up good memories. The throw is high, and it’s a perfect scent choice for this windy Winter day.

At first I thought of pumpkin pie spice, but it's less spicy, more milky than that. I may be influenced by the description, but I smell corn here, both ground corn and sweet creamed corn. A good fall scent if you dislike strong spice but want something seasonal and cozy.

Big fall candle vibes from this one. Don’t get me wrong, I think it smells great, but that’s definitely the best way to describe how Corn Maze starts off on my skin. My boyfriend told me I smell like the gift shop of a Cracker Barrel. I wish I was getting the atmospheric scent others seem to get from this, but it’s mostly caramel and a warm bowl of oatmeal to my nose. I’m getting none of the woodsmoke, corn, or hay bales. I tend not to reach for gourmands, but I don’t dislike this one by any means. I do think this would make a delicious candle or room spray to lend all the fall vibes.

I grew up on a small farm, and many of my Halloweens as a kid involved “haunted hayrides” and the like. I mostly ordered this because I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect hay and/or straw scent.

But I was in for so much more than I expected. When I sniff just the bottle, I smell straight-up sweet corn 😂 but it’s very pleasant. Once I apply it, it’s just 100% haunted hayride/corn maze/etc. Just like a brisk fall night out near the fields. It is beautifully atmospheric. (I don’t get much of the caramel, I think maybe it is just there to sweeten the blend up a bit.)

I have plenty of fall scents I love (mostly gourmands featuring pumpkin or similar), but this one has taken over as THE fall scent for me.

On my skin Corn Maze is a mix of cornfields in autumn, sweet hay, sticky caramel and gentle woodsmoke. I was worried how the oats would come across (will I smell like a bowl of oatmeal?) but it’s blended so well into this scent that it’s impossible for my nose to pick it up. Corn Maze is surprisingly atmospheric and screams Fall to me. CM gives me legit vibes of cornfields and hay bales. It reminds me of childhood school field trips to the local farm for hayrides, picking my Halloween pumpkin out of the patch (even though there isn’t a pumpkin note) and running through their infamous corn maze. What more can I say except this perfume oil just works for me. A great Fall scent without the aid of pumpkin, cinnamon or apple…thank you Forest! This oil lasts around 5-6 hours on my skin with the smoke note being the first to disappear. If you’re cautious of smoke notes I thing CM is a good one to try as the smoke is very subdued.
