Lilies are my favorite flower and Pale as Death manages to capture their scent without smelling too clean. It starts off strong, as if I have just buried my face in a full blown bouquet of lilies and taken the deepest breath I’ve taken all day. It’s a fresh, sweet scent with an enchanting nature. Much like the actual flower, there is a subdued powdery smell to this, though it never veers into baby powder territory. I was worried the cotton flowers might give off a fresh laundry vibe, but I can happily report that this doesn’t occur, at least not on my skin. I get a hint of vanilla, perhaps from the white clover, and something slightly aquatic on the dry down. In terms of sillage, this stays pretty close to the skin. Since white florals aren’t everyone’s jam, I actually prefer how delicately this fades.
