This was a sample gifted to me with my order. I never would’ve picked this on my own as wine notes have gone wonky in the past. I’m really happy I was able to try it out. The wine note worried me. I was thinking I’d either smell like I spilled actual wine on me or the note would go to red wine vinegar on me. Thankfully neither of these things happened. On my skin this was predominantly a spiced peach with hints of the merlot and patchouli in the background. The black fig is blended so well that it’s difficult to pick out as an individual note. I’m noticing that with a lot of Nui Cobalt offerings, the notes are blended so well that it transforms the perfume oil into something that’s so much more than the sum of it’s parts. I think the scarlet musk added some to the longevity but again, it was hard to distinguish. Oeniphilia was gone on my scent eating skin at the 4-5 hour mark. That’s pretty good for me personally but YMMV. At first I associated this as a fall/winter scent due to the spices. After the nutmeg and clove faded out this ended up becoming the loveliest peach scent on me that I’d associate with the spring/summer months. The peach note in this was the sleeper and I dig it.
