Became one of my favorite perfumes overnight.

When I first got my sample, I didn't get the lavender-lemon cupcake opening... but I wasn't too upset by that, because the scent profile this jumped into was like a root beer spiked with absinthe. You have the appreciate the "cool" scent family of artemisia, wormwood, sarsaparilla, mugwort, etc. in order to enjoy this fragrance. But if, like me, all that stuff is your jam, then you need to get this yesterday. Now, with rest, the lavender-lemon is coming out in the beginning (emphasis on lavender), and it just makes everything better.

Cancan.

I got distracted by lemon lavender cupcakes and was surprised by how refreshing and summery this is at first, and then how spiced and earthy it is in the drydown. I've never actually drank absinthe, but this does conjure up images of a chilled, sugary, glowing green drink with a sugared rim and a sprig of sugar crusted lavender and a lemon wedge on top. Maybe a hint of anise and wormwood as it settles? I'm also getting a dark, earthy, spiced tobacco as it dries down. Sweet, but also dark, earthy, spicy and refreshing. I love this one, and really like how well all of these different elements are playing together and not clashing. Chilled sugar amazingness.
