Kelpie opens with a blast of leather soaked in sea salt. It quickly starts to sweeten, which I think is coming from the ambergris accord. This is my first perfume with an ambergris note, but apparently it has a sweet, woody odor and that is definitely noticeable here. The driftwood and the sea foam become the stars of the show as it evolves on my skin. My boyfriend said I smell like the garden center at Home Depot, which I’m not mad at?? I get a much more aquatic vibe with a witchy edge and I am here for it.

Kelpie opens with an ominous note of cold sea foam over driftwood before warming to hay. Drying down to ambergris, oak and leather, it doesn’t go gentle or sweet but maintains a sinister edge of water. The smell of danger obscured by glamour, enticing you to ignore the warning signs.

Unisex; Kelpies and humans of all gender constructs, or none, will find it wearable. A scent to use when you’re feeling Not Nice and Not Apologizing or when you have a deal to make or keep on the riverbank.
