On me, this starts off with thick plumes of tobacco smoke. Given that tobacco isn’t a listed note, it appears as if out of thin air on a walk deep in the woods, sending a chill down my spine as I begin to notice a haunting presence between the trees. The moss and stones come out soon after it’s started to dry down, but it remains a very dry, woodsy scent. I never got any patchouli, but I tend to be wary of that note so it’s absence is fine by me. There’s a hint of something nutty here that’s throwing me for a loop. Perhaps that’s coming from the High John the Conqueror root, a note I’m completely unfamiliar with. Around several hours in is when these rugged woods soften quite a bit. It’s at this point that the fig trees begin to make an appearance, but the lichen and mossy stones are much more prominent now, leaving me with a refreshing green scent that’s completely different from the opening. I don’t dislike this one by any means, but I think I would much prefer it on my boyfriend than on myself.
