The second I saw that this was inspired by the love of music, I knew I was getting it regardless of the notes. I took piano and violin lessons for most of my life and while I still love to play piano, I haven’t picked up a violin in years and I miss it terribly. Melophilia opens with creamy heliotrope and the most beautiful lemon verbena. It’s quite floral and refreshing, exactly what I need when inspiration seems to be lacking. The way the smell of the rosin hit me made me instantly nostalgic. For those who aren’t familiar with that smell, it’s almost like a spicy pine. The dry vanilla and the rich woods come out more as it dries and the combination is intoxicating. This will be getting a ton of use from me, so I’m thrilled I opted for a full size.
