I am enraptured watching all of the series, and this elaborate perfume brings me right to watching the bakers do their best! The throw on the gourmand perfume is mighty as well. I smell the ginger snap, with gooey molasses and toasty spices. The boozy brandy is present without an alcohol blast. The delicate French pears are succulent and fruity. In my perception, the almond sugar icing reminds me of baking macarons a few days ago for Christmas, so a vanilla type of confectioners’ sugar bliss. Lastly, the French Quarter pralines sail throughout, making me want to return to New Orleans and the delicious pecan praline beignets! The scent is a nutty aroma combined with a sugary caramel note. This blend is a welcome change to gingerbread, melding in some notes that aren’t often set free to play together, but do so heartily.
