I discern the element of one of my favorite cocktails, the Old Fashioned! It’s the spicy clove angostura bitters. Next, I can smell the dusky patch, I savor the patchouli types that Nui Cobalt uses. It reads as a mysterious background note and not a head shop. The green figs are sweet and the roasted chestnuts are warm and woody, both parts chiming in the nutty counterparts to this blend. The Egyptian musk is a superb choice for this oil, having the heated spicy musk. I find the black tea is a little hard to find with so many other full-bodied components, but I think it’s adding an earthiness to Yuletide Gay. This is complex and multi-faceted. I classify it gourmand but it’s more than that, spicy, warm, and alive, lasting well past 5 hours! I appreciate Nui Cobalt donating to the Kaleidoscope Youth Center with every purchase of this scent.
