I have been longing to try Coimetrophilia for months since first discovering it in my quest for any and all cemetery scents. I was so happy to see Nui brought it back for their Valentine’s collection. I chose to wear it on what would have been my grandpa’s 90th birthday and was actually brought to tears by how comforting and beautiful it smells. Each and every note comes through for me, beginning with the freshly turned soil and rain. It is a Jewish custom to place a small stone on a grave after visiting, and the wet stone note calls to mind that brief moment spent searching through the dirt beneath the trees that line the edge of the cemetery for a stone that calls to me. With lilies being my favorite flower, the impression they’ve left in this is one of true serenity. Overall, this is blended to perfection. It’s got a chilling quality in the most comforting way, like the sudden feeling of a loved one’s presence long after they’ve gone.
