Cozy

Smells like a soft marshmallow and it isn’t too sweet

Springtime perfection

If Dewdrops on Spidersilk is grown-up blue Sweettarts, this is the pink and orange ones: sugary and floral, with orange blossom the most prominent of the flowers and herbs listed in the notes. It is so pretty and airy (yet not lacking in throw). As it dries, Somniphilia becomes less spun-sugar, making space for the other notes to come out (especially the herbal ones). I absolutely adore this one - I think it's my very favorite of all the Valentines scents - it and it's *perfect* for spring

Don't just reserve it for sleep!

This scent is beautiful for waking or dream time. It's not like anything else in my large collection, and it's far more than the sum of its notes. I can definitely pick out the different components (especially the orange blossom, lavender, lambs wool accord, and vanilla meringue), but all together, they create something truly transportive. It's soft, but it affirms itself, like a really nice, incredibly vivid dream.

Delicate and creamy

I always wish I liked lamb's wool accord more than I end up liking it in practice. It gives a very creamy note to blends. This smells so sweet and lovely without being cloying. This would be good for bedtime as suggested, or when you are feeling more carefree, it's a lovely scent.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream

Growing up, the play by Shakespeare was my go to world of the Fae and magic and beauty. I wanted to play with Puck, be dressed up by Titania, cosseted by Oberon and romp with the lovers.. when I first smelled this perfume, it took me right to that world. I felt like I was drifting in this floral orchard on a lovely and warm Summer’s evening beneath the stars while flower petals gently fell on my face. The orange blossom note is heady and intoxicating without being overpowering. The green notes balance the sweetness with a satisfying clarity. The lavender and marshmallow intertwine for the softest pillow aspect and the cloud musk brings a sensual and warmth. I don’t ever want to spend a night without this perfume. Dabbing this scent on is now an essential part of my bed time ritual. Thank you so much, Forest for creating such magical products and sharing them.
