I'm not going to lie I was afraid of how this one smelled in the vial, it is somewhat acrid and it took a while for me to build up the courage to try it. I'm so glad I did! This is a warm, golden woody smell. The sandalwood is the star here with the himalayan cedar as the supporting role. I don't detect much violet, and the cardamom is in the background adding some nice texture. The suede and amber come out to play during the dry down but it remains wood-forward. I would say this is a unisex scent. I will be wearing this during the summer and early fall and maybe a little bit during the winter whenever I need a reminder of the golden warmth of the sun. I prefer sweeter scents and this isn't one, but I have had great success with layering it with other scents in my collection to make it more to my taste. I'm very happy to have this in my collection!
