Upon first sniff, I feel this is the baby step into the realm of spice perfumes for the spice adverse. It’s well balanced with a measure of florals. The inviting opener of sandalwood gives a smooth and exotic opening. The cardamom seed pods lean in offering warmth to my nose, and compliment the aromatic ginger’s fire since they are in the same plant family. The nutmeg is a dot of sweet spice. The pipe tobacco in this perfume is muted and subtle, compared to its incarnation in Crow. The floral side is displayed by the fig and violet. I find the fig as a honey-dipped floral and the violet as a fresh and powdery addition. I prefer my florals in the violet and iris vein, so I appreciate this. The throw is medium and this reminds me of a mischievous take on a naughty Victorian child.
