Starlight & Spidersilk was my first foray into NCD’s scent line years ago. in 2018. The clean and fresh blend of this perfume is a shining compliment to that first sample I had. My recollection of Starlight was it was a non-gourmand vanilla cotton. September Spidersilk has that same skeleton of vanilla cotton as the frame of the first scent, but with a comforting embrace of some of the soothing elements of autumn. The warm oatmilk chai is fragrant, creamy and delectable. Chai and London Fogs are my two favorite drinks, so it’s something that brings me joy. There’s the nutty sweetness of the toasted almond present that adds in more comfort. The guaiac wood is a strong base, perhaps best described as a warm smoky aged wood with a vanilla lean. I don’t have a point of reference to identify tawny musk, but this musk is cottony and crisp. I find September Spidersilk even more pleasing than my memories of the original. It’s transporting me to a coffee shop in October when the wind blows fallen leaves outside and I’m reading a book on a couch inside. The throw is low, as this scent is something I would share intimately with another.
