Let me preface by saying coffee is usually a death note for me. However, when I put it on, the coffee is right there at the forefront, but doesn't smell acrid or burnt, and there's also something that smells kind of anise-like...I wonder if that's the "black" component in the fig preserves, which does bring a chewy, figgy sweetness to the blend. The pecan and pistachio come through, giving it a nice nuttiness that blends really well with the spiciness of the coffee, and there's a smokiness to it from the toasted marshmallow that hovers over everything. I actualy feel like the coffee aspect of it recedes over time, and it becomes more of a nutty/anise forward fragrance. Overall, dark, spicy, and a little sweet. Very comforting.
