This opens with a bit of damp mustiness which I attribute to the oud. I like it and find it weirdly comforting as it reminds me of the smell when we enter our cabin after having been away for a while. The firs come out pretty quickly and they give this scent a very androgynous feel. It’s woody, musky, and a little sweet with just a hint of florals. It’s the kind of scent that makes me think Jordan Baker from The Great Gatsby would smell like this.

I was gifted a sample of this in my order and it is such a wonderful surprise! Upon application, the fir is so smooth and yes, velvety! This is no prickly pine! The rest of the notes blend together in a rich but almost creamy blend, definitely green and velvety as is named. This scent makes me feel like a Yule Queen indeed, wrapped in a green velvet cloak, wandering through a wintry forest. I plan to wear this to my Yule activities and hope to buy a bottle before she's gone.

This smells EXPENSIVE. It is verdant and regal with the fir at the forefront and the spice of green cardamom tingling the nose. The sweet oud and sandalwood give it a slightly woody feel, and the heliotrope really shines and put together with the amber to make a vanillic, spicy combination. Beautiful and masterfully done!

Imagine being covered in fir needles, except, no, there's nothing pointy or needle-y about this. It's soft, extravagantly rich, almost vanilla -like green fir plush.
